Project Manager

As Lead Project Manager of Blue Environmental for over ten years, Jason enjoys working with a wide range of clients on challenging permit compliance issues throughout the Pacific Northwest.  He is passionate about making environmental compliance a simpler and more efficient process for his customers, from small businesses to large corporations.  Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Washington and is both a Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ) and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).  Jason is proud to contribute to environmental sustainability in the Pacific Northwest, and has helped over eighty clients reach or maintain permit compliance throughout Washington State and Alaska.

PAUL PEDEN II, CESCL

Director of Business Development

Paul joined the Blue Environmental team in 2019 after relocating from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Coastal Environmental Sciences from Louisiana State University and the University of Sydney, Australia. Paul is interested in the unique, temperate environmental systems of the Pacific Northwest.  He is dedicated to helping his clients stay compliant and successful while preserving the health of these systems. As a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL), Paul adds a wide range of skills ranging from on-site field sampling to the creation of stormwater pollution prevention plans carefully tailored to each client’s needs.

IAN POPE, CESCL 

Field Operations Manager

Ian joined Blue Environmental in 2024 and has a background in environmental science and geography with a focus in GIS and remote sensing. He has conducted several studies, including spatial analysis of soil erosion and reservoir sedimentation in the Ni Reservoir in Virginia, and an analysis of cloud forest deforestation and the subsequent implications for soil erosion and food security in the Central Highlands of Guatemala. Ian was also a professional baker and enjoys baking bread and pastries. He is passionate about soil conservation and working with stakeholders to achieve sustainable levels of environmental quality.

CLAIRE GILLINGS

Environmental Scientist

Claire joined Blue Environmental in 2023 after working in habitat restoration and agriculture. Growing up in Western Washington, Claire has always been captivated by the unique ecosystem of the PNW. After leaving Washington to receive her B.S in Environmental Sustainability from Northern Arizona University, she was ready to return home and begin her career. Claire is grateful to have found a position in which she can pursue her passion in preserving our natural resources and is eager to continue her journey in environmental consulting and permitting. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, crocheting, gardening, and playing with her two cats.

CAIN TILLETT, CESCL 

Environmental Scientist

Growing up in Yakima, Washington, Cain has always had a passion for the ecosystems and wildlife within the pacific northwest. Obtaining a degree in Environmental Sciences from Central Washington University, Cain joined Blue Environmental in 2024 to begin his career as an Environmental Scientist. Outside of work, Cain enjoys hobbies such as hunting, fishing, and golfing.

JULIA NAGLE, CESCL   

Environmental Scientist

Julia joined Blue Environmental in 2024 continuing her career in environmental monitoring and protection. Growing up exploring the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York, Julia developed a passion for the outdoors and environmental integrity. This passion led to her earning a degree in Environmental Science and Resource Management from the University of Washington. Previous to being an Environmental Scientist for Blue, she worked as an Environmental Analyst specializing in Microbiology. This combination of education and experience in environmental compliance has prepared her to effectively serve and be a valuable resource to clients. She aims to ensure clients are informed, supported, and satisfied throughout their projects. On a personal level, Julia is thrilled to take part in protecting Washington’s waterways and environmental health. Outside of work, Julia enjoys live performances, competitive volleyball, and discovering new restaurants.
